    Σε μία κατσαρόλα βάζουμε το νερό, το λάδι, τους κύβους, αλάτι και πιπέρι επάνω σε δυνατή φωτιά και ρίχνουμε μέσα όλα τα υπόλοιπα υλικά.

    Τις πατάτες τις προσθέτουμε μόλις αρχίσει να βράζει το νερό. Αφήνουμε να βράσει ώσπου να μαλακώσουν τα λαχανικά και να χυλώσει ελαφρά η σούπα. Τότε, προσθέτουμε το ρύζι και ανακατεύουμε ανά διαστήματα. Αν λιγοστέυει το νερό, προσθέτουμε κι άλλο. Για να δούμε αν είναι έτοιμο δοκιμάζουμε τις πατάτες και τα καρότα. Πέντε λεπτά πριν κλείσουμε το μάτι προσθέτουμε το χυμό λεμονιού.
